Rightio. One of my mates is looking to buy a 2nd shape XL-7.(BIG headlights) What are the pro's and con's? He wants a manual. Steel front carrier? Plenty of room Fuel economy is not great on some v6's, so i know they are a lucky dip. What else? |

Xl's have a strange front diff, don't think the steel come in to play there.. Get an auto Timing cover's leak oil & the rocker cover gasket's will need replacing at the same time. Apart form that thay are just a long Gv, but a 2.7.. Reliable, drive well, heap's of room for stuff.. Thay don't turn as well as Gv's but shopping trolley's hardly ever do.. & it's a Suzuki!!! |

Ive seen the 5 speed auto mention its the pick of the bunch. He wants the manual for the fuel economy. And easier to rebuild if it all goes to shit etc. We'll have to grab a magnet for the diff test, might be looking at one today |

The one that we are going to look at, Found out the engine has been changed from a timing chain problem. The chain probably snapped from not servicing, but they seem to be common with the gv's and xl7's. The ad for the car has 114k' s on it, so unsure if thats the new engine k's, or actual car k's. Very unsure about this now. They had to change the motor before they could sell it, So either they dont want the chain to snap again, or the car has more problems.. |

the XL7's run a steel front salisbury type, not compatible with lockers, and niether is the rear diff. don't waste time with a manual, the auto is far better.(i have one |
