got a sloppy shifter in my 95 sierra i have replaced the shifter bush just wondering if there was anything else to try i seen on a us web sit about the shifter bolt but this was a sales add with no info just wondering if any one else has had any trouble like this. at the moment it has around an inch or so play from side to side. |

In the neck where the shifter bush sits, there is a small bolt that locates into the slot on the shfter. What condition is it in? If its worn, broken or missing you will get shite loads of play. |

yep 12mm bolt directly behind the shifter,you see the shaft of it when the shifter is removed. be careful its not broken when you remove the shifter as the broken bit can fall into the box |

Because I tend to take pictures of anything.... dust/dirt boot off, bolt still inplace..
dust boot on, bolt removed.

They are easy enough to get new but if you have an old box laying around or can get access to one, then you can use the reverse lockout bolt out of the side of the tailhousing. |
