Is there a list of seats that are pretty much straight forward conversions for a Sierra? I've tried a forum search for this but not finding too much listed apart from the odd swap. it'd be good if there was a good comprehensive list to use as a 'go-to' guide for others.

If anyone else has swapped over can you tell me what you sourced your seats from, other successful swaps you know of etc, new options... costs...

Don't want to spend a whole bunch, so maybe retrimming stock seats might be the cheapest way to go? What's this cost if your in the know?

My passenger seat is OK, but drivers seat is completely split from headrest to thigh area... my back is starting to complain so time to sort it out

My experience has been this;

cheap autotechnica seats are a fairly nice seat and they fit in sierra's. to fit it requires 2 extra holes to be drilled in the stock rails, 1 each side, and they bolt straight in. mine have been complianced using this method. total cost: $300 for the pair of seats, $70 for the blue plate.
the only problem i have with these seats is that the padding on the right side of the passenger seat has started to fall away from the frame. this is from constantly climbing over it all the time. it is not a huge problem for me but is definetly worth mentioning.

in another sierra i went down the retrim stock seats route. to retrim the base of one sierra seat cost me $105, and a full seat cost me $235. while these may not be cheap prices it is the only upholstery work i have had done so i didn't have much to compare it with. the retrimmed seats are no where near as comfortable as the autotechnica seats but they require no blue plating or anything regarding legalities.

it mostly comes down to how often and what type of driving you do. if you are using it as a daily driver and you are short you may find that constantly climbing into bucket seats is not for you and get tired of it quickly. if you are doing hard wheeling than you may find that the stock seats do not provide enough support, especially sierra seats with their damn kidney bashers. tell us more about what the car is for and you might for the advice you get will be more practical.

You'd be looking at around $300 + to retrim a bucket seat. More if there is foam damage

It's a daily driver and a weekend warrior. I spend about 1 1/2 hours a day commuting, next year probably even more when I start uni.

New seats need compliancing huh? Bummer, more costs to keep in mind
