Guys,
I have ordered some 4.9 transfer case gears from the states along with a transfer case gear supplement kit.
Can anyone suggest someone to rebuild the case with the new gears for me.
Im located in SE melbourne.
Also what would it roughly cost?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

If you're handy enough to get the transfer out you might find you're right to do it yourself. I did my 4.9s with just a socket set and a cheap supercheap press.

Won;t be trying it by myself...I know my limits. Don't you need to shim?

Rather pay someone to do it, and not have to worry when up in the bush...as much!

not 100% since ive never done anything like this myself, but pretty sure u only need to shim when installing the 6.5's... 4.9's is fine AFAIK...

No worries. I understand that logic all too well. Unfortunately I can turn off the worry part until I'm stuck in the bush.
