Hi there all

Has any one had some experience with the Projecta DC20, (3 Stage Automatic 12V to 12V 20Amp Battery Charger) and a Jimny.

My plan is to fit a battery to a trailer and use a unit like this to keep it charged while driving.

Cheers

Im not an expert but I would have though that 20amps is a bit low for recharging the battery to use for camping duties etc. Most alternators put out between 50-100 amps.

Interesting bit of kit, I bet they cost a bomb

I wouldnt use one because
They are wrong in the instructional video about not needing heavy cable, ohms law is ohms law
modern alternators do a fairly good job of charging batteries and if you are cutting your capacity that close your designed it wrong
Projecta arent a great brand

because you are running the battery in a trailer that wont be under charge a lot you might be better with a conventional isolator and a ctek 240v charger to maintain it when its parked up

I have sold a shit load of these and they brilliant, operate at anywhere from 9-32 volts. Not quite as cheap as the Projecta but I haver seen a warranty claim.
