Heres the stroy, everytime i get to about 3000rpm it seems to back off and struggle to acclerate after that. Also i can smell some weird smell coming from the engine bay i think.

Some things that might help solve the problem; i was leeking coolant somewhere...i put stop leak in and i think its working also cheaked both dipstick and oil cap for water but all good their.

Also transfercase has a really slow leak, took the filler cap of yesterday and oil was coming out so theres still plenty of oil in there.

Im ablostly stumped now can someone please help!

Check your ignition timing, and your vacuum advance. Also check that your cam is timed correctly. Make sure that your secondarys are opperating and are hooked up correctly.

where is your leak coming from in the transfer?
if it is coming out around one of the flanges, it should just be a seal behind the flange.

No, a leaky t-case can't have that sort of effect on performance...

Blocked Cat? Thats what it turned out to be for me.

for one , leak sealer will block your auto choke .

has it always ran a bit rough when first started up in the morning ? this could indicate the vacuum operated part of the choke unloader isnt working , and now with the blocked auto choke , means the choke wont come off at all.

A leaky transfer will not affect engine performance. Try what lay8ton said.

That weird smell you mentioned is probably just oil from the transfer burning on the exhaust.

Im going to guess its the rear out put seal that is leaking? you can get the seal from ripco / super crap for around $10. If you have to change one, you may as well do the rest.

sure its not just the clutch slipping? would explain the wierd smell and lack of acceleration.

A slipping clutch would be noticable cos it would rev quite freely even if you aren't going anywhere...

i had a similar problem in my sierra checked all my timing and every thing was fine .. turned out to be that my choke was sticking on . once i jammed it open and tyed it off with a bit of wire .. it had more power then it ever had before.. .. but was a little harder to start of a morning .. might be a thing to check out

Id be looking at the vacuum secondary, if this is fine, choke and timing.

Secondary actuation first but.

thanks for all the advice guys! its has always ran shit in the morinings so the choke might be it!
Not to sure what the secondary actuation is but im sure my repair manual will help me out.

Just checked the choke and it seems to in working order-compltly open when warm.

Could someone please point me in the right direction on how to check the vacuum secondary please.

Also i found a few weeks back that their was small deposits of what looks like black water coming from the exhast would this be a sign of blocked cat?

That leak sealer is nasty, it will block everything up, i had to get a radiator recored after i used it, it was so blocked up...
