Has any one installed one of these in anything yet?
I am looking at getting a front one for my Jimny.
I have seen the arb test vids but going by their figures id say it will be plenty strong enough for a Jimny in the front.
Cheers

In my ignorance I bought Roo Lites, I am very happy with them, but I now realise they are a knock off of Lightforce. Lightforce is a US company, and if the lights bugger up, no biggie, I can still get home. A broken diff and you are out of action.
I own up to being parochial with ARB. I think the amount of time and investment required to get a diff locker to market is somewhat higher compared to spotties, and it would be a shame to see this sort of work stop. However, if you think ARB is taking the local market for granted, I can understand the vote for the knock offs.
I was under the impression that Lightforce was an Australian company

A few lads on here have already got them, I'm on the goldie but I'd help you if you wanted to come down. I've never put one in before though but it can't be that hard!
I have done 6.5's into a transfer case alone with not enough tools though :p

That's what I'm waiting for too, I've read the thread start to finish and there's been a few who've said they look identical to the arb ones, to the point they think parts are interchangeable.
No testing yet though, but as I said, I've not done it before but if it's anything like putting in gears (from the tech threads I've read it isn't that hard) then I'd help him install one, the wiring and compressor stuff is easy as hell, be good to finally see one in action!

you might get one or so that may be interchangable but if you think you can swap parts between the majority ARB and ChinaSoong......the answer most of the time is no.

This is what I was wondering, So you know that they aren't an exact replica, but none of us know how they perform yet?

Surely those blokes could take a few mins to comment on them?
Come on guys, it would help us out.

So it looks like a direct copy ? Do you think arb parts would be interchangeable ?

In looks it is a copy, in quality its far from it. Read my post above as to your question.

I know you can make this stuff and that the arb gear is reasonably priced as you have said in other posts. So basically I realise you know what you're talking about and that's why I'm asking.
Just wondering in what ways is it of lower quality? Is it materials or workmanship e.t.c???
I know not all stuff can be copied or copied well, but I'm wondering if it's a product of the mass production and cheaper labour in another country, or some huge cost cutting on materials and processes.
