Will Vitara centres (5.12 I think) Fit in 1L NT diffs? I want to lower my crawl ratio on a budget. Currently running 31's on stock 1L running gear, High range is liveable for now but I am not happy with low range. |

if high range is fine look at 4.16 transfer gears, high range (for you) wont change, low range will be a lot better though |

What about 1.3L housings? I have some of these to bolt up but they are 3.9 ratio centres and was told they wont bolt up easily to my NT. When I buy T case gears I'm gonna get the 6.5's as I want to eventually run 33's or 35's down the track. Plus you can't get transfer gears for 1L transfers can you? |

Only the 1.0lt Sierras with the 4wd light, either the metal dash with the light near the keys, or the plastic dash with the light in the instrument cluster. |

Yeah if they are 1.3 NT housings with the 3.9 centres, then they will bolt in. The pinion flanges may be different, and the brake lines might be different, but otherwise its a fairly straight forward swap. Oh and you will need the 1.3L U-bolts etc also. Bare in mind that this will make your low and high range worse until you fit the new transfer or diff gears. |

Thanks Fatzook. Mine has the little light near the keys. Will all T case gears fit or do I have to get certain ones? I thought the gears only fit 1.3L T cases. Sorry for bein such a pain in the AR$& but zooks are confusing! 
It seems like hardly anything is interchangeable. |

If your dash has a little '4WD' light that comes on when you select 4wd high or low, then all aftermarket gearsets should fit your case. 
And don't worry about being a PITA. Jccck has that covered

Your 1.0 case with gears will probably be worth more to re-sell than a stock 1.3 case. 2. The 4.16, 4.9 and 5.14 reduction gears ALL require that you re-use a gear from the 1.3's set of gears to make a complete set. The 6.5 gears replace all gears in the case, so the original can be either a 1.0 or 1.3 case. Before you sell either case, fit the gears into the 1.3 case and change over your flanges/brake drum off your 1.0 case. That way, you will be certian your driveshafts will go straight back in. If you then fit the 1.3 flanges/drum to your old 1.0 case, that will again make your 1.0 case a little more valuable to a prospective 1.3 owning buyer. |

The only problem I can see is the 1L driveshafts are like toothpicks!! The 1.3 driveshafts are HUGE (by comparison). |

Bout the same-ish. The 1.3s are hollow tube which is lighter rotating weight and easier in the factory to balance. I've NEVER seen anyone twist up any Suzuki driveshaft due to gearing torque alone, only damage is caused by bending/denting the tube, of which the tube is more susceptible than the cast/forged shafts. Your 1.0 shafts will be fine, providing the splines are still good (otherwise you'd have replaced them already). |
