a mate has called me to say they have a f10a lwb at his work (mechanic) and it has carbi issues... apparently you cant pull the carbi down? only so far, and they can clean it (kind off) and it will run fine for about 25min but then start to play up again.. any ideas? |

Mine used to flood like a pacific atoll in a cyclone... was a combo of some dick putting an oversize spring in the fuel pump, and the float level being set to the factory height (ie way too high). |

STUPID QUESTION TIME: have they replaced the fuel filter? are they sure it's the carby causing the problem? have they checked the points, mechanical advance, distributor, leads, plugs etc.. I can pull my 1 litre carby apart enough to get to everything that needs to be gotten to for cleaning, compressed air and carby cleaner are your best friend for this job. we really need more detail about the problem they are having see diagram below for float height setting |
