Hi guys, I have searched but I couldn't find anything, I'm just trying to find out what powersteering box is in my sierra, I was wondering if someone wit Could tell me if there is any numbers one the box to distinguish it, there is numbers on the box facing the radiator but I am unsure if these mean anything. Cheers josh |

If it has an adaptor plate between box and chassis it is most likely Vitara. If no adaptor is used it is genuine Sierra or Jimny. |

If its using only one of the stock holes and no plate its a Toyoda from a Cresseda etc, unless its like mine and its got new "stock" holes and none of the original ones.. |

I'll have alook when I get home it doesn't have a wedge or plate, I think it is using one original hole? Maybe, the seal around the pitman arm spline is leaking fluid, is this repairable? Just looking at whether it would be cheaper to replace or rebuild( if able to) |

I paid $60 for the box from pick a part. Ive never rebuit a steering box, but I would think that if you can get a kit you would be better off repairing it. Im kind of remember the manual saying replace the box not rebuild it though. I feel like im rambling, am I rambling, yeah I think so. Its slow at work today. |

Yea I wasn't sure if they are rebuildable, will ask my mechanic mate, will still need to find out what box it is either way, is there any distinctive markings to tell me if it's a Cressida box or Jimny box? |

I had a look at the box it doesn't seem to use the existing holes but it has this tag on the top of the box
So I think it is a suzuki model of some sort, I couldn't get a decent photo of the whole box as the sun was being a pita |

This is the best I can get right now as it's dark out and I only have my ifail to use, I thought the numbers between the radiator and right hand ps line may help determine what it is
