OK this is hard to describe.

The plastic black sill mould just below the drivers side door of my Vitara is up the shit & needs replacing. So I called around some places & found one but they tell me it comes in 3 sections & from looking at the sill mould from a distance it appears like it does. However, on closer inspection (under the car) it resembles (to me) to be one whole long piece bolted at either end with some plastic clips in the middle.

So my question is, are these people correct in saying there are 3 pieces?

mine has a long centre section and then 2 little caps either end

I would say thats what they mean?

Yes exactly like mine, but is it infact one piece or 3?

Maybe I should just piss off the shitty sill moulds & get side steps instead....

thats my plan, the plastic just causes rust anyway

its 3 piece. i pulled the front most section off mine when i chopped the guards, to cut it to suit, then screwed it back on

Right OK thanks!

If that's the case then, I only need 2 pieces.

I bashed my sil a week or two ago 4x4ing, went around yesterday to get a few quotes to fix it, and ppl quoted me any where from 1600, to 700. But what im wondering is, could i just put some side steps on it and not even worry about the sill ???

Post subject:  Re: Door sill mould

not built for looks, I'm used to a sill 20cm higher so made em to take a flogging

I did em over a week between other stuff but a big day would see em done, less if you do em like westies without the extra bar

chassis dont flex
