Post subject:  GTI extractor's

Hey i am in the final stages of a gti coversion and am having some issues with my exhaust system. Basically the issue i'm having is that the sierra extractors i had fitted to the G16A that was fitted beforehand, do not seem to be able to clear the passenger side engine mount. I have welded on the GTI flange however the orientation of the secondary collector is just in the way. Are some different brands routed differently ? i have Lukey's fitted ?
Thanks in advance
Jonny
P.S please do not tell me i should have put fuel injection on my G16A

I think most people use sierra extractors as a starting point. They may be shaped differently to the G16a extractors.

G16 extractors are taller the g13. This means that you are trying to fit the longer pipes to a shorter motor and that's why it's hitting the mount.

I used g13b extractors and welded them to the gti flange plate was perfect fit

the passenger engine mount on a g16b is further froward so the extractors will / may sit further froward as well which will foul on a g13b

i had a similar problem today, do you have access to an oxy because i think all that needs to happen is both sections heated and bent a bit?

Any exhaust shop can get them. I just bought 1 for a turbo manifold I made and it was $37 and they got it within 2 days.
