Hi guys I am just wondering what power steering belt tensioner idler you guys with PS are running? Mine is not large enough to tension belt properly and it squeals when adjusted to max position. probly need tension idler to be 10mm bigger in Dia to enable correct belt tension. David |

That's odd as most belts are in increments of 15mm. The belt tensioner will take up alot more than that, atleast the Vitara one does. |

Cheers, I should of mentioned I'm running Jimny PS including the bracket the bolts to engine. It is the cast one not fabricated one! Also belt is multi grooved type! |

Yes multigroove belts come in increments of 15mm. Surely the next size down and the tension pulley at it's lowest will go on? |

It's been a while since I installed it, but I'm pretty sure I tried the next size down and couldn't get it remotely close to going on..................without damaging something!! |

What size belt do you have now? Are you just trying your suppliers next belt down. or are you ordering in the next size down that they make? sometimes they have as little as 5mm between sized and with multi rib belts, 5 mm can make all the difference. If your not sure whats available, let me know the size you have on now ie 4pk0990 or whateve, and i'll look on gates and dayco and see what sizes they stock/make for you, so you know what options you have weaves |

To find the correct belt would be the way to go.... as a last resort you could have a sleeve made to increase the diameter of the belt tensioner. Bill |

if you actually go to a larger belt supplier, you will generally be able to find belts in 5mm increments |
