hi i recently bought a 93 suzuki sierra.. downsized from nissan patrol due to financial reasons. i tow a trailor for work the zuke is a great little car but lacks pull i have been looking into a engine conversion and i found these in the US has anyone imported a axis turbo diesel conversion kit and if so how did it go getting it into the country and then engineering it. ive seen the vids on youtube and the little VW 1.6 turbo diesel engine in a zuke looks and sounds mouth watering... who dosant love a good turbo diesel wistle? |

From what I have heard they are heavy and hard to find in OZ. Why not do a 1.6lt or a 2.0lt vitara conversion? |

X everything. The engine is impossible to find in Australia, the gearing is screwy with the reduced rev range of the diesel, and it would cost more than a reasonable patrol is worth to import a motor and conversion kit, get it legal and geared nicely. I'm guessing you don't have standard size tyres? If you're running bigger tyres, make sure you get the gearing sorted before you chase more power. Steve. |

few years ago i had to use my sierra for a few months to tow a trailer ( full of tools and carpet). it was just a stock 1.3 with a turbo on it, did it fine. have a look at putting a turbo on your engine just make sure you get a turbo that comes on boost low in the rev range |
