Hi does anyone have the torque/power curve for a standard zook 1.3?

I'm trying to get a little bit rediculous on my gearing modelling and I really don't want to pay for a dyno just for the sake of it!

what size tyres and what gearing do you have at present.

Currently I'm on standard gearing with 30's but that is irrelevant as this is a virtual project.

I've already got together a 3d model of a tin-top and I think I've done the weight distribution properly, I've got all the gearing details under the sun, I just need to find out how the power is delivered so I can build a working model to test mods in the virtual world.

Some thing like 47kw is that what you after

Best I can tell you is, the official figures for peak torque and power are:

49.5kW@6000rpm, 102Nm@4000rpm.

From these you can work out:

78.8Nm@6000rpm, 42.7kW@4000rpm...

You could use two points and some knowledge of what a torque curve normally looks like to make a bit of an approximation, I guess...

You could just simply aim for cruise speed (100 in 5th) at max torque, which equals max engine efficiency..

Only if you're building a zook to cruise on the highway ;)

Sitting on 100 in forth just slightly above 4000rpm I used 27L of fuel in 130k's on the highway...

Dude, that's the sort of economy my mates turbo'd RX7 got on full noise... Something is wrong there...

He isn't alone
I use half a tank in about 60-80k's :(

Post subject:  Re: torque / power curve standard zook 1.3

You have used half a tank in 60-80k of highway driving.

crikey

You would be far better off with a big block, less fuel and better performance.

I can understand that fuel usage at WOT, low gears, but highway driving, hmmm

yeah the primary throat in the carby wasn't working. all fixed now, just a terrible and expensive 350k drive home

Have stock gearing, 29 tyres but have a 1.6
I do 120kph at just under 4000rpm
Drain my tank like a thirsty camel
This is why I choose not to drive it :)

Dynoed my stock 1.3 sierra with 190,000km at work (TAFE College) to amuse some apprentices and got 29.3kW@ 4300r/min and 125Nm@ 3400r/min in fourth gear.( Much laughter from the boys, they didn't think it would turn the rollers!) 2 months later having fitted extractors and a 2" system we did another run under the same conditions and recorded 34kW @5100 r/min and 135Nm @3600 r/min. The point was to show how small modifications can make good gains. 14% in this case and all good fun. These figures are for rear wheel power, not corrected.

Honestly dude why put in that rubbish statement of your poor fuel economy and not state that you had problems straight away. Just unnecessary complicates and diverts the thread :?

Have you got the print out? It's exactly what I need.

Here are the print outs. Hope they are useful. What it shows is that revving the ring out of your stock engine is a waste of time and effort. 8O

i have a dyno print out, but motor isn't stock....

High compression pistions, shaved head, shaved block, fully rebuilt head (down to the rocker rods), tighes hill ground cam (puts my power between 800rpm and 4500rpm), and a $1100 carby rebuild, tuned and jetted.

If your interested in my readout i can scan it in but it will take a few days....

41kw/56.1hp was my total power

I had a Tcase filled with grease and shot bearings and a gear box with shot bearings also.... im just finishing my 1.6 TBI setup, and will be getting another dyno reading when im done.....
