Thinking about a Hilux front diff but don't want the lift associated with SOA..
Anyone done it SUA?
Problems?

wouldnt you have issues with the diff hitting the sump?

addressing the steering might also be tricky.

I'll be doing a chassis extension and pushing the diff quite a way forward so I don't think sump clearance will be a problem.
Steering box will be moved forward as well and possibly replaced with a bigger unit.

move your steering box forward, diff forward a bit, and coils

MQ diffs are suposed to be the sua option.....

but then he wont have gearin t match the vit rear.

what would you do for steering jas?60 nuckles maybe?
or fab up some mad ghetto steering arm similar to how preecys one is mounted in his vit thread

Spua lux diff will need a special mount at the pumpkin end. The original spoa mounts have a notch in them to sit around the pumpkin. Then u bolts will be another issue.

I have a Snake Racing arm thing, got it ages ago off a member here, that bolts to passenger side kingpin and supports drag link as well as tie rod. Should be able to use that.
As for box..... I dunno... Maybe hilux IFS or GQ

Ifs lux's go on outside of chassis

Ideal is the landcruiser 60' and some others? forward pitman arm box, But most times it covers the chassis number where you mount it. Not ideal if going to be registered, Which won't be anyway being in qld..

I used hilux ifs box on fatzook. Worked well.

Antt off OL did a SPUA lux didd on the front of his old oragne Vitara, i have some pics on an old PC, will see what i can dig up. Funny you mention this, i was looking at SPUA diff swap options just last night.

There's a member here in Vic doing SPUA 60 series diffs as we speak. I had a look at some photos of it today - looks very good. It's tight for sure, (and WIIIDE with 8" rims and 35 12.5's) but looks good. (for an overdiffed car :wink:

Hoping to keep the Zuk rears I currently have in the front....

Will eventually be 3/4/5

linked with air shocks like the rear but don't have the $$ at the moment.
