Ive fitter a 1510 lockright to a Vitara ctr in a steel GV carrier and front housing but im having problems with getting the stub axle in. It goes in and bottoms out on the cross pin block before it seats on the oil seal properly. It only needs another 3mm.

Is a Vitara stub axle any shorter than the Vit one?

I could remove the block and it should fit but would that effect the way the locker works?

I don't know if crosspin block is needed in a 2 pin carrier?

Really can't remember wether I used one or not.

In searching interwebs I found some people need to grind the crosspin block, some don't

I would be inclined to shave 2mm off each side of the block.

I think the block stops side gears from pushing in too far,
in my Spartan the side gears bottom out on the washer to the block,
lock rite may be similar.

Or try a different block,
you may have the thinner one somewhere in your pile

The block stops the side gears from coming in to far to the center. Check you clearences with the locker before you take off metal.

the locker fits and works as it should. Its just the axle hits the block before it is completely in. I got the dremmel/hone tool onto the block and opened up the middle hole to allow the axle to push right up to the cross pin seems to be alot better now. the split pin is now actually doing something.

thanx guys

On my Lockright (with couplers, ie the 1530?), it did not use the cross pin block on the four pin carrier so I doubt you would even need it as they both function the same, they just have different methods of meshing.
