Post subject:  Re: oh shit

That'll come out by hand. It's not like it's siezed in there

Post subject:  Re: oh shit

yea they are pretty simple to use, but sometimes the bolt is in to tight and turning too hard can break the easy out. in that case you have to drill it out a little bigger ( as close as possible to the thread| and re-tap the thread

drill a small pilot hole roughly the same size as your phillips head screwdriver socket bit (but a touch smaller) - hit the screwdriver bit into the hole with one hard whack, and unscrew it.

Post subject:  Re: oh shit

Youd pick up a decent set for pretty cheap (dont know exactly) but they are very useful to have!

easy out's blow, if you snap it in there you can't drill it, cause it's tool steel..

center punch the center of the busted bit, run a small drill down the gut's & increase drill bit size till you can pick out what's left of the bolt, if your lucky it will start turning with the drill, then just un screw it..

What Alien and Stekky said, should come out easy as it shouldn't have bottomed out in there.

the benefit of these sets is that if it does snap you CAN drill it out, they are soft as shit and completely useless.

a decent set (ie. sutton) will cost you $45 - $50.

thats the way I'd go. at worst you end up redrilling the same size and you need to hellicoil or re-tap it.. snap off an easy out and your in a whole new world of pain
