Post subject:  Jimny rear bearing? leak

Hi

I took off my rear left wheel to spray the inner hub to find a leak
its like a greasy olive colour
would anybody know what would of caused this?
help will be appreciated.

the leak is shown on the bottom.

& wheel bearing, no point just doing the seal as the bearing's meant to have grease in it, not oil..

I'm with Royce. Check brake fluid. I can smell a knackered wheel cylinder from here.... Or is that my dog?

Taste it. If it's bitter it's brake fluid. If it's got a rank smell it's diff oil

thank you for the help everyone, i wont drive it till Monday when my mechanic looks at it :) hopefully it doesn't set me back much.

Turns out it was the axle seal, all fixed now :)
