hey guys, i was wondering what a few of you think about 31'' tyres on just a standed 1.3lt 94 sierra. and what offset rims would i get to have a bit of rim stick out of the gauds, i would most prob get that rubber gaud stuff to make it legal, cheers |

What are you trying to achieve? What mods have you done? 31's on a stock 1.3 will be painfully slow and kill your clutch quick. With out lift/trimming/big bumps it will eat you gaurds... |

why do u need to have it hang out of the guards and why do u want 31's? theres alot of good tyres that are better than fat 31's i.e 31 10r15 have shit ground pressure do to the sierra only weighin a tonne. so a smaller track tyre gives u a better ground pressure do to more weight on less area. |

im doing a 2'' suspention lift to start with then the idea was going to be 31''s. so besides choping the gauds is changing the gear ratios the only other thing, and how much will that cost? to changw the gearing |

Hey mate.. my set was the following 2 inch spring lift 2 inch body lift Hammer the unner guard a little 31" federal couragia MTs (quite soft in the side wall.. Bagged well under the sierra weight) -13 rims.. Tread was just in the guard .. Sidewall stuck out though 6.5:1 transfer gears. Imho it was a good setup.. Use to do a highway run daily.. Bout 20 minutes on the M1 and it was ok.. Revved a little high but it was very bearable. Every person has there own opinion on it though. Things to consider when choosing a tyre that will bag down well is how many ply the side wall is.. Thats why the federals are good. |

hey mate i was prety much looking at the same thing as you. but after doing my own research (cheers AZ) i have decided to go 29s they still look prety beast and as was mentiond above 30/9.5/r15 will tub out more than a 31 and there for will prety much have about the same. if not more surface area. -also u have to consider things like -how heavy it will make the steering -that you gona burn ur clutch out if ur not carefull -possibilities of other brakages increased -the engine is already shit house in the power department. and it is gona feel worse go have a look at sierradans zuke. he was running 31s on a stockie he has even chosen to put a 1litre transfer case in (reduced gears) the ofset u want is atleast a -13 (f100 sunraiser) this will just hang out the wide track flares (u have a wide track) if u want a bit more maybee go up to a -23 max (this has its disadvantages). also take note of the search function (people on here get pissed of about re posts..... i found out the hard way...) strongly recomend u go for 30s or smaller |

My dp is a stock 94 sierra with a 30 on the front. I have stock wheels on at the moment, just put my lifted springs in on the weekend and will take to it with a grinder and hammer before the 30s go on. Also got gears on the way from the states |

this is mine with 31's in not alot of clearance and they tear the inside of the guard to i wouldn't go 31's again with out doing a guard chop or body lift.

i had 31's on a stock lwb nt. didnt touch the gaurd and the speedo was only out 4 to 6 kmh @100kmh. crawling wasnt to good but i drove from brissy to darwin like that without a problem. experience may differ i spose. |

Body lift clear the tyres better than a suspension lift, as you need to limit the uptravel of a suspension lift. Although I have a 2" suspension lift and 30mm bumpstop spacers on the front (without these the tyres fucked up my guards) and a 1ltr transfer. I am going to get 6.5s soon. But I love my 31's. Great diff clearance. Not everyone needs 31's, but out my way bigger is better. |

Shep, depends on what you are driving on. Suziblu had stock NT gears, and did well on 31s. Long range in gears is good for sand. |

my old wt hard top on 30s couldn't hold 5th gear on the highway but when i went to 32s and 6.5 gears it could pull a heavy trailer all day. |

I was able to tow a tandem axle trailer, full of wood with suziblu, in top gear, 2 hills made me go down a cog, but they were the same that dun it even without a trailer. Mind, she did not want to go above 90k, was like she hit a brick wall. With lower gears, 90k in the maruti, put ya foot down and go. Need pics of the beast with 33s mkay. |
