I know it sounds like a stupid question but this is why im asking.
Im just finishing up swapping a 1.6EFI Vitara motor from one Sierra to another. The motor ran fine in the old car and only had 3 wires for me to join into the Sierra loom (Power, On and Start).
I went to turn it over tonight to see if it ran before i put the radiator back in and the fuel pump wont run.
So before i start looking for something ive missed i just want to know if its the lack of coolant that stopping it from starting?

G16B's crack heads VERY FUCKING EASILY......... I would not be starting it without water in it...
To answer the question.... a lack of water will not stop it starting.

No immobiliser, i just went over the drawing a saw where i went wrong. I wired the "Power wire" in the Rear Defogger fuse, because being a soft top it wasnt being used.
Of course if id had a better look i would have realized that the fuse doesnt have power to it when the key is in Start. So hopefully i fix that up tomorrow and ill be off and running.
