A colleague borrowed my Jimny for a few days. I am sure he did not abuse it, but my car now has a horrible scraping, screeching noise coming from the drivetrain. I am still able to drive it, but it sounds horrible. It gets worse when I engage the clutch to change gears. I got in below the car, and the noise is definitely coming from the gearbox area. Anyone has an idea of what can be wrong? |

if it still makes the noise with the clutch in wouldnt it be before the gearbox? ie clutch or engine |

I doubt that it is the engine - so it must be the clutch then. Any recommendations on where I could go in the Brisbane area to get it fixed at a decent price? |

sounds like throw out bearing for your clutch what part of brizzy you in?? |

89_tintop - sounds about right. The screeching sounds like a shot bearing. I am in Carindale. |

Oh, is it a daily?? I can do it from home but may need the car for a couple of day's, as I would be working on it after work.. |

I forgot - it's a 2002 model with M13 (non VVT) engine. |

Report in with what it is. I thought if it was throw out bearing it would only screech when pedal in pushed in.... could it be the dust cover thingo??? I have heard this can happen. |
