ok firstly, thanks to everyone on the other thread with my questions on the pivot/fork/throwout. my throwout was seized like all hell.

now i still dont have any clutch, i have about twice as much pedal as before but not enough to select gears. and when i get under the dash. the big bolt running through the center pivot of the pedal. bends like a floppy cock. i think i may have damaged the pedal assembly when jumping on the clutch trying to work it with the seized throw out. is this common? can it happen? (obviously)

it looks like a huge bolt runs through the clutch and brake pedals, so will be fun pulling them out. looks like ill need to drop the column? also suggestions on fixing it? im thinking of getting a hardened rod spun up to slide in with some thread each and to bolt them together?
thanks for reading.

ok all my issues are solved so ill do a quick rundown for future searches
so my pedal was getting harder and shorter slowly till the point i had no pedal
i had replaced both master and slave cylinders to no avail.
turned out my thowout bearing ( release bearing ) had jammed on the input shaft. so replaced the fork, pivot and bearing.

(here is a little odd happening i thought i would mention. because my slave was fully extended when i last bled the line to check for air, when i replaced the fork assembly and bolted the slave back on it compressed the fluid in the line between the master and slave. and actually throwing the fork back about 20mm, enough that the clutch was 100% dis engaged so i essentially could press the pedal all i wanted and all it did was dis engage the clutch more. i simply craked the bleed valve and about 30mm of fluid sprayed out, nipped it tight and it was fine)

now, since i had driven the car with little and no pedal for a long time, i had actually bent the long pin that holds the pedals in line, also the pivot points of the pedals (brake and clutch)
along with that the pin (large nut and bolt) had become loose
so when i pressed the clutch in. the pivot point rotated closer to the fire wall giving me very little master cylinder rod movement, even fully extended.
so i lossened the bolt off more and rotated the long pin so that the bend was pointing towards my knees rather then the fire wall. soon as i done this it brought my clutch pedal back inline with my brake pedal, (my clutch pedal allways sat a good 50mm lower then my brake pedal) and now i know why.
then i held a spanner on the clutch side of the large pin (BOLT) to keep it in position, and put a 14mm socket on the brake pedal side (NUT) and tightened it up FT (fucken tight)
so basically i achieved the opposite and gave my pedal slightly more throw.
so in summary if you have pedal issues and the normal stuff doesnt fix it, check your pedal.
if i have any more issues im going to box up the outer side with 2mm plate, because as the pics will show the reason it bends is because there is nothing supporting the outside of the clutch pivot like the brake side.

The reason it was probably bent was because you musta out a fuckload of force on it due to your seized throwout! Shouldnt be a need to strengthen or box it up because normally that much force isn't required.

Seems like the sierra setup, where the whole bolt is supported to the column by a large steel bush that spans the distance between the brake and clutch pedals. So in effect you only have ~30-40mm of bolt unsupported where its in the pedal.

Never heard of anyone bending that before....

I have. Got 3 bent ones on my bench at home. One from a 1L, one from a WT 1.3 and one from an SV420 vit.

I discovered this problem when trying to make a hybrid pedal box for the ute. I have replaced the bolt with a 12.9 SHCS.

Well fark me! I musta got one made of steel! Either that or im too light to put enough stomp on it to bend..
