hi guys just got a 92 swb sierra with a 97 1.6 fuel injected motor in it. the wiring is not hooked up and im having trouble working it out. ive sat for ages with a wiring diagram and still not quite sure. i have the sierra loom connected so i have lights etc. but i cant get power to the ecu. anyone have a diagram on witch wires from the 1.6 loom i need to join into the sierra loom? ive read you only need about 5 wires hooked up for it to run but witch 5 wires are they =O. cheers

You need power from ignition ON to the two relays. One is fuel pump. One is ECU.
If you get stuck send it to Steve at KillaKustomKables.
If I had more idea of your location than just Australia I would be able to recommend someone close to you.

He did mine cheaper as I was guinea pig...
It is plug and play once done... I'm sure you could handle it without much hammering...

Black/white with black/white, thats ign
Black/yellow with Black/yellow thats crank if its manual ecu.

if my f/p isnt connected and the pink wire is just hanging free. wld that cause something in the ecu to draw to much power?

Post subject:  Re: wiring

I dont think not having a wire connected will cook a diode in the ecu, more a case of having a wire connected wrong. I aint no expert but I would be taking jonno_racings advice

Mine was White (comp) for constant power and i hooked it to White/Green trace (sierra horn).
With it getting hot try to find which pinout that resister goes to and find what wire colour it goes to. Chances are its hooked to a ground/positive it shouldnt be.

so the white wire out of the ecu was constant power not the violet/yellow? maybe ill try that
