Took a trip up to double island and had a blast, came back and now the car is acting quite strange.
Under high load and low revs the car starts to hop like i have a lumpy cam or something.
For example if i cruise over a speed bump and try to take off in second gear it will just start to hop and unless i take my foot off the power or slip the clutch a bit it doesn't stop.
pretty much only happens under 2500rpm
hill starts have to be over 3000 or it will either hop or stall.
Other than that it idles and drive fantastic still, its only high load / low revs where it acts different.
Any ideas would be splendid.
its a 93 LWB 1.6 mpfi vitara
a mate suggested vac advance but i thought thats all controlled by the computer?

Fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, fresh fuel.
Tue basics can give you silly problems like these. (Occasionally)
Try these then go into it deeper.

My first guess would be air filter, but as above check all the basics.

Coolant is full
Air filter is new
Spark plugs are new
Fuel filter is new
Fuel pump is 3 months old
Leads are 3 months old
Still doing it, becoming pretty frustrated.
Is this maybe a TPS issue?

It has also been using slightly more fuel than normal but that might be to the fact i have to drive it completely differently to stop me looking like a complete wanker hopping his car around carparks

Fixed! Was a big hole in my intake piping after the MAF sensor. Not sure how i missed it.
On the plaus side the car did get some loving with new fuel filter, oil filter, oil, leads, plugs, air filter, dizzy cap, MAF clean. Will probably run like a dream now.
Finally I can drive it under 2500rpm again. Glad i only do 10km a week
