Up to 146 individual spotlights.
I once heard of a guy who ran 148, but he was mad to the power of sick to do so. Also he didn't like cats.

I once went to a shop in Newcastle named Spotlight. I was buying curtains for my mum.
I got a parking ticket because I didn't pay to park.

If they're low enough amperage anything is possible.....
More information?

For how long? if its only a few minutes on then a few off its likely going to be fine

if its at idle for 3 hours straight its going to be a drama

Ive found even a bigger vit alt will not keep up with 4x100w spotlights and 2x60w high beams and a reasonable stereo when running them for an hour straight on the highway

My Vit alternator died after running the Hibeams and 4x100w spotties for 30mins :'(... now i have the falcon alternator and i struggle to get it below 14.1V with all the lights on, hi beams and stereo pumping :D

110A FTW

The alternator is rated 45Amps IIRC.

If the lights are rated 100W@12V each then that's 8.33A each. 4 of those is 33.33 Amps. Add two headlights, 60W@12V = 5 amps each.

So with just the headlights and spotlights, thats over 43 amps. Add tail lights, stereo, and some juice to actually run the motor, and already you're taking more current than the alt is providing... So it won't keep it up for long...

I have 2 35W HIDs and the light output is huge... I reckon given the limitations of the Sierra you'd be better going down that sort of path...

thanks ive just been given 2 spotlights and one working light for the rear im preety sure they are all 100w globes in them but not to sure about the actual unit three should be alright then, i will be getting better quality spotties later on but for the time being theese should work fine.

also another question
converting normal halogen spotties to hid, will it actually drop the amperage and watts.

i may sound stupid but i need to learn one way and learning off people that know what there talking about is the best way.

I converted my rear light to HID to save power while camping. And plan to do the same with spotlights. THe rear light doesnt register on my volt gauge.
