30x9.5 Firenza MT on alloy 15x7. 25kg.
Alloy by itself 8.2kg.

Thats a lot of extra weight your axles have to cope with Benny.

31x10.5r15 (Rims are custom, and procomp 15x7 -38 steel rims)

With General Grabbers (SRL) = 38kg ea
With Kumho KL71 = 30kg ea

There is a VERY noticeable acceleration and braking difference between the two!

The difference is interesting. Would be cool to do a table separating sized and weights

I think there is a lot to be gained on our little suzuki's just by going lightweight tyres.

'Murica versus Korea =)

They're essentially the same construction with regard to ply, speed and load ratings... just the Generals ate too much KFC (might explain the red lettering).

The Generals are absolutely brilliant tyres by all other regards other than their weight when compared to the Kumhos. For the weight penalty alone is why I wouldn't buy them again. 32kg added unsprung AND rotational weight is a ludicrous amount to add to a sierra. (Consider the theoretical factor of 10, which means that 32kg is the equivalent difference of me carrying 320kg in the tray; that's like, a whole Texan bloke!).

For sure. Hence why I find the tire and wheel weights in this thread interesting

Not all american tyres are heavy. The class 10 35" Baja KR2's are 1/2 the weight of a 35" Krawler. I reckon they're the lightest 35" tyre ever made.

Yeah the Hankooks seems light also

For example:

30 x 9.5 KR2 is 16.8kgs

30 x 9.5 RF10 17.6kg

Not a fair comparison as 1 is a full blown race tire and the other is a budget ATM.

But shows you could get into a 30 on an american tire for around 27kgs and within a good budget. I would like to know the stock Jim Alloy as it might even be a little lighter

The 30x9.5 kr2 is a UTV tyre and far too lightly constructed for a road car. They're also something like $600 each locally.

To add to this, all weighed with the same scale.

F10a, complete with both manifolds, clutch, alternator, carby, oil ect.

82.05kg

G13ba, largely the same as above but the F10a had a bit more stuff on it like the fan, radiator hoses ect.

85.45kg
