You are joking aren't you? I use nutserts and 6mm stainless button head cap screws for that sort of job. I guess you could try VHB double sided tape, but If it doesn't work they are going to fly off, and if it does work I reckon you'll take the paint off the car if you try and remove them. I assume if you don't want to drill holes, you won't be cutting the guards under the flares either, in which case jeep flares look terrible - you can see far too much of the original wheelarch underneath them. If you don't want to drill holes then surely you also don't want to drill the spotwelds out that hold the stock WT flare mounting flange to the body? Any flare is going to look craptastic with the stock flare mount flange visible under it. Steve |

Hey g wagon, how much of the guard in the wheel well shows with the jeep flares if you don't cut the guards. Do you have any pics? Cheers |

Fawking heaps, but it depends a bit on they are mounted, how much lift is in the car, the colour of the car, and how much tyre it's running. These photos of a rear flare look pretty good, but it's a bit of a trick of very little spring lift, a big tyre, and a deep shadow. I run these currently with a 9/34's and they look craptastic. f you look closely at the side on view, you can just see the line of the stock wheelarch inside the flare. I can't stand it. With a heavily cut guard they are OK (although I think the lines are all wrong for a sierra), and I think I'll be running them on my next build because the calmini flares aren't wide enough.
Here is a front TJ flare with some more light falling on it. I don't think this is a good look.

I'll got 30/9.5 with 2 spring lift, 2 inch body Car will be dark blue I want the flare mount as low as possible lower then the tj front flare of yours I would like to use the DBOR flare or calmini because there the shape of the wheel arch, but are to The jeep flare nd bushwacker flare would be okay but the both for jeeps wheel arches So not sure what way to go |

They will look terrible with such a small tyre. You can't really mount a front TJ flare lower than in my photo because then the leading edge extends past the front of the car. It's a bit hard to explain, but in that photo you'll notice the flare is distorted - you have to bend the front flare so it clears the door. they are really a terrible option. In fact, the TJ front flare almost works better on the back of a sierra back-to-front (I did say "almost") Rears are the only way to go, but it think you will find them too wide for your tyre size, and that makes them look very bulky and draws attention to them. There's no reason to ruin the look of the car for tyre coverage for your application. For your tyre size the calmini flare is perfect.
With 31's
With GV rims and 9.5" wide swampers. Steve |

I'll spell it out more clearly. I did say I bet calmini will say their flares are "on backorder" This is my understanding of the facts. Calmini flares were produced to order for Calmini by a company in Rowville, Victoria. Due to some dispute with Calmini, that guy made some flares off of calmini's moulds and sold them to guys in Vic. After a prolonged period, the moulds were sold to another urethane company in Melbourne, (Boss products?) who made them in the "unbreakable" urethane grade and sold them out of their factory for some time, but were looking for a distributor as they didn't want to deal with the public. DBOR took up the distributorship. So, as I understand it, the DBOR flares ARE calmini flares - they are made from calmini's moulds (and they have "calmini" and the calmini part # moulded into them), which calmini don't own any more because of the dispute with the Rowville based manufacturer. So, I think you will find the Calmini flares as "on backorder" which is code for "don't exist" Whilst you're at it, ask Calmini about 5.83 vitara diff gears- they have been "on backorder" for about 5 years due to a similar dispute with Richmond gear in the US. If Calmini have had some more moulds made and do have flares to sell, A) they have two agents in Australia, they will direct you to them. They are on their website. If you are from a country on their site with a dealer, they will not sell to you. B) If you find them through a US agent that will sell to you, get a shipping quote. Flares are bulky - I imagine the difference in retail price will be absorbed by shipping C) Unless they have changed the grade of urethane, they are shit and will shatter. I know this because I have had some made from the original grade of urethane. They split if you look at them funny. It's your money though - go crazy. Steve. |

X2. Jeep flares aren't that cheap either. I only use them because they are wider than the calmini flares. If someone made some moulds from the Bushwacker flares and made them in the same urethane grade as the BDOR flares they'd be on a winner. Steve. |

A quick note about jeep flares. These are the so called "unbreakable" Jeep flares from BDOR. They are clearly not "unbreakable" because jeep flares have straight edges and corners, they're easier to tear than the Calmini style flares, where the force is better distributed.
They have a number of big tears and splits in them I'll admit these have been jammed very hard against banks, but these are the same tracks that are being driven with BDOR calmini flares and they are coping fine. The shape of the BDOR Calmini flares makes them way more durable. Steve. |

Steve. Well they must have changed their compound recently because mine are cracked through the flange, and they haven't even been fitted yet. And my mate ( charlie13 on AZ ) has a set that he recieved 3 weeks late that are fucked from one end to the other. I'll try and get some pics. |

I've sort of heard this but haven't had it confirmed. We haven't bought any new ones for a while so maybe they have changed compound/quality control/supplier? Honestly, the abuse I've seen them cop and bounce back is amazing - we've had them totally flat against the panels. Jamming them between the tyre and a bank has pulled them off though... but everything has limits - but the flare has been fine, it's just pulled the rivets through. Steve. |
