96 zook made it (just), did realy well considering it had me 95kgs, twin cam donk in the rear, front and rear gti seats (not fitted), 20lt jerry (full), tools and fishing gear and only used 10lts/100km. But the donk is on its way out, at the start of the trip could sit on 140km but now just makes 120km so time for twin cam :) . Can i put the twin cam head on the coily bottom end? Oh 1770 is one of the best camping areas every

Im keeping the bottom end and just putting the twin cam top end on it. That way i dont have to go over the pits ect for engine number change :D . You can have the bottom end of the twin can and the top end of the coily if you want, just not sure when im doing the swap

Aren't the bottom ends of the twin cams a stronger donk?? Why dont you keep it? Other than DOT, I would be very surprised if they even looked at it, tell them you blew the other one up and this is a direct replacement for it

Dumbest idea I have ever heard.

Just fit the bloody G13B or get another G13a. Bastard hybrid motors rarely work aswell as their complete donor motors do.

And your current bottom end will be fucked. If its down on power, its most likely down on compression. Which means it needs a rebuild anyway.

Would just put it in but want it to stay legal incase i have a crash and dont know the history of the donk (could be from a car that was never unregisterd or even stolen), compression is down to 150 and 160 on cars donk so rings are gone.

if you are going to replace the head, then change the pistons (which means rods... as they have bigger pins) and put fresh rings.

I have pulled apart g13 several engines to get the differences. Sierra components are pretty beefy compared to the carby swift so i wouldn't worry about adding the forged crank out of a gti... besides its like 3kgs heavier

Don't muck around with a half rebuild. something else is bound to die when you have just finished. A change of engine numbers is no big deal, fill a form out then the transport department will want too see the new number on the block.
