This has been discussed several times in the past 2 weeks.

Given that their lead time is over 4 weeks, and that they have only been advertising for 2-3 weeks, I doubt anyone here has one yet

Don't like the style of the front bar for the jimny, but the back one suits it well. both look well designed and built though.

I just got my jimny, and first thing I have done is orderone of everything these guys do, so will be able to share my thoughts and show you guys the photos. The front bumper isn't the nicest looking I've seen, but it does look quality and its better looking then the ARB model in my opinion. The other stuff looks great.

The rock sliders look really well designed, like they actually will slide without snagging on stuff or bending! As does the other stuff.

So far the seller only asked for a $50 deposit, but I gotta wait about 5-6 weeks.

I don't think they would hold up to well if you slid onto them, from a side angle, with the whole weight of the car on them, as there is no bracing anywhere that i can see.

Then again, i carn't speak i haven't mine yet

I would say, there is a hole in the mount, and you would just un-do the nut on the body mount, then out the sliders sleeve over the body mount, then put the nut back on.

now the real question is It safe to do that???? to take a direct hit into the bodymounts every time you hit a rock???... why do it from there?

I think they are more of s STEP than a rock slider.

I think there would be less clearance problems than if you were mounting to the chassis. I can't really see a problem with them mounted to the body mount bolts. I think you will destroy the slider before you destroy the body mount points

I hear what you guys are saying about the mounts not being up to large impacts. I agree. But they are secure enough to jack the vehicle up by.

Also...

Many of the rock sliders I've seen have various braces especially around the middle of the slider, right where they are most likely to contact a rock etc and they WILL snag on stuff. I want sliders that will gently allow the vehicle to slide over any rocks/roots when I run out of clearance. Not really looking for something that simply protects the sills from a large impact if I'm driving like a loon. So I reckon these will fit my specs. If I wanted total protection from large impacts then I agree these probably aren't strong enough. I'm more of a 'creep up on the rocks, and slide over them' kinda driver, but we'll see. Speed is usually my friend off road, so my theory might be a bit fawed!

Winch mount is for boats, so strength to hold a larger winch looks to be not strong enough.

Dont like the front bar. Looks Jap made.

Rear bar, Is the towbar rated? and legit?

I'll try and post some pictures of all the insides and mounts when I get hold of the kit so you can tell me what you think. the Stuff is coming from asia, not sure if japanese or not.

I can see it fine enough in the ebay pics. Small fairlead and the winch mount holes are close together.

I ordered the rear bar about 4 weeks ago... after asking them a question yesterday I got told to go to ARB because "it's not worth it"... Still waiting for a reply as to if mine is still coming or not...

Well i dunno if anyone has received stuff yet, But after a bit of digging they appear to sell Procomp components. There is a good bet that these bars are made by the same factory hopefully in Japan but most likely in Taiwan like most other stuff these days.

I like that MIC are offering another bar option and I like that they have a version in aluminium. The rear bar looks good, and the sliders are, well, sliders. I think based on price and looks that it will have the qualities that most people want (a. impresses your mates, and b. has a winch fitted - not included, I know). IMO 70% of winches never get wound out, and if they do, it's to pull a wheel barrow up their driveway. So a boat winch in a HD bumper for less money than an ARB has its place on the market.

I've seen recoveries with a small hand winch, so don't doubt that a boat winch would be better than nothing, so long as the bar will hold onto it.

All that said, I think if you want a bar for strength more than looks this may not be the right choice.

On the other hand, these may be a lot stronger than they look and I'll have to eat my words

i got one of the ally bars when they where still $600. fitting it was easy and its pretty good quality even for what they are going for now.

I just read on another forum, that a guy with a soft top jimny got one of the bars and it dosen't fit!
