Any body changed the rings on a 1.3 carb? Mine have had it. Wondering if it's worth getting someone to do it or having a go and hoping for the best. |

So much else involved. It's not just the rings you need to think about, cylinders will need a measure and hone, probably should consider big end and main bearing replacement, head check, etc |

If it doesn't matter how long it takes then grab a workshop manual and give it a crack. I would advise getting the block honed and head checked by an engine reconditioning shop but the rest can be sussed out fairly easily. How extensive is your tool kit/box? You will need some specialist tools like torque wrench. |

Most 1300 are reaching the stage that they need a bore, and have the block decked these days. The number of people ive seen just put a set of rings and bearing in and wander why they have excess piston slap, or the head gasket only lasts 3 to 6 months. Get it done properly if your going to do it. |
