was looking at this as its 5 minutes from my place.

how hard is it to change the seals if thats all it is? ive done some engine work on nissan engines but not these. what else would you change and check? rough outlay that might be expected?

NFI on cost, but i'd go check it out before bidding, it could be a failed head gasket or something similar.

yeah im probably going to look nxt day or so. wreckers near parafield have 2.5l recon engine for around 3K so might be better of doing that

I just had a quick look at the GV H25 manual and there's a lot of similarity with the J20 that I've just teared down. What's worth noting if like me you were use to working on other types of engines (holdens/fords/nissans/mitsu), getting the head off one of these engines is a complete PITA!

Looks like its the same setup to with the lifters, making it completely impossible to change the valve stem seals with the head on like you can do with most other engines I've worked on.

So even if it is just valve stem seals expect to be removing the engine, pulling timing cover, chains, sump, cams, heads, etc. Days of work.
