sierra w/t moving front diff forward?

w/t sierra
i want to move the front diff forward,
say 30mm.
looking it today im guessing i have to re drill the perch and the fishplates as well.?
will i have to make the shock absorber mount longer so it is straight as well?

You can go to around 50mm before steering binds. I went 40mm the first time I did it, and the shock hit the bump mount by about 2mm(thin body gabriel). Trimming the edge should sort this out.

You can get around 25mm if you drill the perch on the axle. Or you can redrill the spring, this will give you bad caster on fresh springs if you go too far. Used springs that are flatter wont be as bad.

22mm is THE MAX you can safely move the front diff forward without major mods.
The back of the pitman arm will hit the tie rod and bend it at full compression if you go any further forward.

Is that with no bumpstop spacing?

I'm at 30mm with 2" on the bumpstop and I'm 99% sure I have no contact.

im running 50mm bumpstop extensions now, do i have to move them forward?

my diff is close to 50mm forward. photos are on my old swb when i was working out
bumpstop spacing. every thing is the same on my lwb except for the steering dampener.

tie rod and draglink rub a bit

this is as close as the pitman gets to the drag link
photo dosent show the angles well but the pitman would well and truly smash into the tie rod if allowed to.
stock bumpstop also completely misses the diff and had to be spaced forward as well.
