Heya just got the goods from arb, air compressor, air up kit and a gauge. Just wondering were you guys mounted your air compressors, my 09 jimny has minimul room under the bonnet ? Also what are the pros and cons of placing the compressor under the drivers seat? Thanks |

I haven seen them mounted, over by the washer bottle, with a bracket made up, to move the washer bottle forward (towards the headlight), then the compressor mounted in between the bottle and the ABS thingo. The other place i have seen them mounted, is right behind the passenger side head light, but it would be a pain in the arse, if you had to change a globe on the middle of woop woop at night. Take pics once you have mounted your, cus i will have to be doing the same to soon |

Ive got mine under the passengers seat aswell. But in a vitara. Perfect spot for me as it is a space not used for anything else, plus it keeps it away from water sand mud and other shit. Also saves getting under the bonnet just to air up. |

My mate had his fitted under the bonnet of his Jimny, can't remember which side. Not much room under the Vitara bonnet as well, mine is on the passenger side.
My mate had problems with oil coming back out of the compressor, so I wouldn't want diff oil in the cabin. Never had a problem in the Vitara. |

if you ever plan on fitting lockers don't put it under the seat. cab will smell of diff oil... they shouldn't leak... but trust me... it will squirt a fine mist of oil every you turn off the locker/s mine is fitted behind the passenger side headlight. as i have dual bats under the bonnet it's the only place it would fit. |

Has anyone considered putting it under the left front guard? More then likely it won't fit so just a thought.
Where mine got fitted

Did you just bolts through the inner wheel arch? that would have been easy. |

yeah you can pull the whole headlight out pretty easily. can't say i have ever changed a headlamp globe... may be better mounting it like monkey did (come on, put a pic up) as you can't put dual bats under the bonnet without moving a fair bit of stuff anyway on the ABS jimnys. vaxxi has some good ideas =] |

sorry for taking so long heres were i ended up mounting it, just gotta relocate the breather to a higher position but otherwise works a treat! I welded up a right angle bracket and used the screw holes that were already there to mount it solid as a rock

sorry monkey misread your post. didn't see the "have seen" bit looks good anyway mubby. will be lots easier to work on in that location if anything ever goes wrong. one of the great things about the arb ones is you can get spares for them =] |
