94 maruti, lwb.w/t Q1. the "1 litre" diffs... 4.1 ratio.. can i get air lockers that fit these? or will i need to fit different diff centres out of a 1.3? (i could ask arb/tjm but i dont want to be treated like a rapist because i dont drive nissota) Q2. im having great suspension difficulties, i want to run a longer spring in te front, ruf, but i dont want the hassle of extending the chassis (for legalities and the effort) and it looks difficult on a w/t. so that leaves me to re drill the rear hanger, what spring do i get? suzuki carry rear spring? and what do i do to it? ie how far do i re drill the holes? how far can i re drill my spring perches to move te diff forward without running into trouble with the steering while running this carry spring? whats the recipe for the spring? with this carry spring, do i run extended shackles or do i have to go back to standard? do i get the spring reset? will i have to move the bumpstops forward with the diff? (im already using 50mm bumpstop extensions) now with the rear suspension... the shackle is vertical, i have no down travel, its like the rear spring is 50mm to short, its a 30mm lifted dobinsons, will i need to get a longer rear spring to get the right angle? i believe efs are the longest? will it benifit me to 'inboard' the shock mount and run longer shocks? i need the recipe lads, my kidneys hurt. cheers for all the help in advance. yes i did look threw the search menu, but im still a bit confused. |

hmmm i havnt done a ruf yet but from what ive read you use standard efs or king spring rear springs in the front for this and then you drop a leaf out of each or something like that, with the back do you have extended shackles? That might fuck up the angle? |

Your 94 should be a WT with 4.09:1 1.3 sized centres. A sierra airlocker will fit. |

IMO, a big part of doing a RUF is being able to move the diff forwards. If possible, I still would try to do this. |

to fix the rear angle? yeah i chucked them in and the angle was as bad, and my 31's scrubbed, i reckon the spring isnt as long as a efs. the front flexes at slow speeds in wombat holes a bit, but on rough roads there is no movement. im gonna chuck some pics up to show ya what im dribbling about

running a carry spring (if recommended) where and how much do i re drill this 
putting in shock hoops a good idea as well?? with the carry spring will i have to put the hoop a bit forward, especially if i re drill the spring perches to move the diff forward, and how far with the carry spring in it can i move the diff forward without having steering difficulty? 
being a w/t, could i just do a full ruf without extending he chassis and just exteding the shackle mount? and if soo how much do i extend it? 
this angle is vertical, how can i fix this? is there a longer springs i can run? 
will inboarding the rear shocks on a higher mount running longer shocks let the rear flex a bit better with no weight on it, popping a spring out isnt my favoured choice, as i often tow a trailer and carry a moderate load on the try.

Have a look at dan's zook, he did a RUF on he's wt with custom springs. I got some of the info from his build thread

With my RUF I chopped off the factory spring hanger, welded in a 3mm place in it's place, about 100mm x 100mm, and welded the spring hanger to that place. I added some triangulation to this plate for added safety. Allowed me to shift the hanger forward, outside the chassis rail where it is needed without extending the chassis itself. |

well this is my plan: chassis extension for and move the w/t shackle mount forward for a full ruf, going to use the dobinson rear spring that is in the rear now. going to put in 12'' shock hoops, keep my 50mm bump stop extensions. 3'' extended brake lines. inboard the rears with higher mounts. 6.5 gears. save for lockers.

This is zookers old maruti,(he sold it) So just put it up incase you didnt find this. zooker wrote: Did a mini RUF during the week using suzuki carry rear springs. They are approx 50mm longer than 2" lifted sierra front springs, and the centre-pin is approx 45mm forward of stock.
I used main carry leaf, 3rd and 4th leaves out of my 2" lifted pack and the 3rd carry leaf. No load leaves. I might add an extra leaf on the drivers side to try to counter the sierra lean  To fit them I redrilled the rear spring mount 20mm back and 6mm up. This puts the axle approx 25mm forward. The steering arms clear by 5-10mm so no trouble there.  I used 40mm extended shackles. This gives a nice shackle angle.  It probably gave 1-1.5" of lift (so dropped a little from the previous 2" springs).  Flex is awesome to say the least. Quite a big improvement from before. I have 1" bumpstop spacers to help fit the longer shocks and stop the tyres rubbing on the guards (which still needed a fair bit of massaging with a hammer)  Shocks aren't fitted in this pic as I was measuring to make sure they were still long enough, which they were  2" extended brake-lines are plenty long enough  So overall Im very happy with my $30 carry springs. The ride is softer than before, quite comfy, flex is better. Cant go wrong  |
