I brought a set of 4" lifted springs and shocks but my problem is they are so stiff that i have a good height lift but very little flex and an extremely stiff ride. unfortunately I'm not very well educated in this area , but my thoughts were:
could i get 2" extended shackles and take the smallest leaf out of each spring? also as a result of this would i get better flex, smoother ride and about the same height as i have now? also what risks am i taking of bad steering or a spring snapping under the stress of one less leaf, considering that i will have extended shackles in to allow further movement?????????? please help |

well for starters it would help if we knew what kit it was that you bought and how many leafs are in each pack |

Got some pictures of these springs? cant see a 4" spring been very effective at anything, or very safe... |

Ok will get some pics up soon. I got the springs second hand though the car they came off only had them on for a year b4 he wreaked it. I'm not home now but will check the brand again. To be honest I think I was fibbed to alittle. After installing them I think I gained a little over 2 inches but they are pretty stiff. |

i assume a leafy sierra.... pop a leaf out, but they are always going to be a harsh ride. |

take a photo of the leaf packs front and rear for us to see =) im betting if you take the pack out, remove the center bolt to release the springs and take the clamps off, you'll find theres only 1 leaf in there responsible for the stiffness (and lift). its usually the 2nd or 3rd leaf up in the pack. |

Could be the Trail Gear or Calmini 3 inch springs, the only ones I have seen in a 4 inch were some yank ones, Rough Country I think they were called. What tyre pressure are you running ? |
