I'm in need of getting my brake drum machined due to a little scoring on one of them. Can most small mechanics do it or is it specialised, ie I have go to a brake place? |

Any machinist place would do it, as it needs to be machined properly. |

Just put new pads in, dont worry about the scoring. |

Any Brake and clutch joint will do it. I took mine to Midas a couple of months ago, but a Mr Brakes etc should only be about $10 a drum. Most Mobile mechanics have facilities in their trucks, and they come to you, but it will cost you more. |

Its getting less and less on workshops who will machine drums not all brake lathes do it, I know where I work does, but really im too far from you, just ring a few of your locals and find out, remember that if the drum will go oversize you can get oversize shoes but really its more economical to buy new drums at that point in general |
