Post subject:  suzuki g16b engine help

hi i got a 1994 suzuki vitara g16b engine but it currently has the g16a head (carby) i have at home another g16b engine and head but its from 1991 will the 91 g16b head fit on the 94 g16b block and how do i go about for gaskets are they both the same or do i need one or the other? can you please help me

Any G16B head will fit on any G16B block as long as it still has the 16V pistons fitted.

so i could just buy the valve regrind kit for the 91 head and that gasket will line up to all the jets ect...?

Jas is saying any g16b head will fit as long as the block still has the 16valve piston. G16a is 8 valve so the engine might have 8 valve piston.
G16b pistons have 4 Valve reliefs per piston
G16a only has two.
Just buy a g16b head gasket

thanks thats all i need to know i just have to take the G16a head thats on there to see if they have changed the pistons im hoping not

The pistons on a carby head should be different to the pistons with EFI head. Head gaskets are all the same.

the only thing that i dont know yet is if i have the carby pistons in my fuel injected block to run with the carby head im thinking now that it has carby pistons :(

To be completely clear, since there are a few strange combinations out there:

Pistons in a 16 valve engine are different from pistons in an 8 valve engine. Its to do with valves, not how the fuel is delivered.
