Whats the death shake? I hope thats not what my drover has. Its shaking a hell of alot!!! lol i was kinda jst hoping it was a snapped transfercase mount throwing my driveshaft out. FECK! |

My mates car gets a real bad shake going between 50-70km/h or under heavy breaking if this is what you are referring to I would also be interested in how to fix it Have checked Wheel bearing King pin bearing Tie rod & drag link Balanced wheels Jack shaft & front drive shaft And still can't find the problem |

Search "Death wobble". Many parts can slightly wear contributing to this. Also wheel balance King pin shims/bearing preload Wheel alignment Up to shit caster angles |

A damaged steering damper can cause it, take it off and push it in and out by hand, should be smooth resistance equal in and out. |

I'm going to say NO to this. A damaged steering damper will either bind the steering or be ineffective. Neither is a cause of death wobble. As steering damper when functioning properly will only damp the effect - the conditions that cause the wobble will still exist. If I was trying to sort death wobble the first thing I would do is take the damper off. Not because it might be adding to the problem but precisely because it will be masking it's real extent. If you fix the wobble with no damper then there's no reason to put it back on. They are overrated. Steve. |
