Mate of mine purchased a zook rockcrawler on 40's from ebay the other week anyway its running a baleno g16b enigne and he wants to convert it to auto for rockcrawling, it currently is manual and naturally has a rockcrawler transfer case on it any suggestions on what auto he should run and will his transfer bolt up to it??? I tried to put this in the tech section but I dont have permissions to do it |

I was informed that a Vitara 3 speed Auto from a Carb Vitara will do the job...I am doing the same thing... |

Few guys in the Zook club run the 3spd auto. It's a trimatic base so can be built to take the abuse although I think all guys in the club are running stock boxes on 35 inch tyres and well geared. The aw4 4spd from a vitara can also be bolted on there are a few thing you can do owen to make them easier to fit like removing the rear extension housing and installing a bearing plate to accept a decent length jackshaft to the transfer case. Joe-blow off here makes a kit and also a few US suppliers do them also. A 4spd with 6.5s in the transfer and anything around 4.1-5.1 in the DVDs would make for a sweet combo on 40s. |
