hi again mates. im trying to put my timing belt on my motor. i bought the timing belt for the g13a motor. seems to be same length as the one that i pulled off it but havent counted the teeth. i try to put it on with the drive side tight but it either still skips a tooth or if i get it not to the other side of the belt with the tensioner doesnt tighten anyway. can someone tell me every step to do. i did it as per the manual as i understand it but maybe im wrong |

Use the cam pulley from ur old 1.3 head as that way the cam/crank tooth profiles will be the same. You'll then just need a timing belt for a g13a (make sure it's the square tooth profile most g13ba & g16a have round tooth profiles). If you're having trouble fitting the belt - take the adjuster bolt out of the tensioner plate so you can swing the tensioner way back out of the way when fitting the belt. Makes life a little easier I've found. You can also rotate the cam pully a tiny bit to get a bit of slack. As long as your timing marks line up once you've tightened the tensioner you'll be right. |
