hey guy, Got a really bad shake in my 85 drover.. i had a snapped transfer mount, fixed that and now I got a fkn terrible rattle/vibration... I was wondering if maybe because my transfer mount was snapped it could have bent my tail shaft or something? I have no idea. my drovers a 1.6 turbo. Could it maybe be a wheel bearing or something? or my gear box.. it only happens when I accelorate but when they car is in neutral it doesnt vibrate.. so its either the gear box or back.. I'm lost.. |

If You assembled Tail shaft wrong, it could do that. Uni joints need to be "in phase." That is be straight with each other. |

And Transfer case could be moved out of place slightly, and be touching body, chassis etc, or stick hitting the body |

Could be the passenger side engine mount, too. They can look ok from outside. |

I would start with driveshaft and unis. Make sure both uni's are in phase with a angle tool. Both Unis must be within 6 degrees of each other or you will have vibes. Given that you have broken a transfer case mount i'm thinking you killed a uni or the drive shaft is slightly out. When replacing the mount did you make sure to put the rubber mount the right way round, same position it was before? This can change uni angle also. |
