Post subject:  Idle/ throttle messed up!!

Hi guys when im driving and i go into neutral my sierra just idles at 1500, everynow and then it raises up to 2000 - 2500 and as of lately had been very high, I just have to let the clutch off without any accelerator and it drives off.

I had a dig around here and tried filling up the radiator with the cap off and warming the engine, but that didnt work.

So then i checked the throttle in my engine bay and it doesnt look right. The spring looks like it has come off and the the throttle is stuck down...

How can I fix it?

is there someone who can fix it for some cash or beer, looks like it would be 5 minute job for someone who knows what theyre doing.

Ive attached photos :P

The munted spring bit is a wax choke.

You can probably disconnect it until you can find a replacement, but it has been a while since I looked into a zook engine bay, so I could be wrong.

Its the choke spring. Not having this spring connect will prevent the choke flap closing hence high idle.

Pull off the carb inlet, and see if there is a butterfly that is moving freely that is connected to the busted spring. If there is, wire it open. That will temporarily get you going a bit better.

if the water lines to the choke are blocked , wiring open that choke arm will not reduce the high idle.
