Replacing the clutch while the engines out. Any recommendations other than one of the "run of the mill" PBR or the like?

Also, anyone bought a slave cylinder seal kit before? I'm only finding replacement slave cylinders at about $120, no seal kits. Nothing wrong with mine other than the rubbers are getting old, so a $20 kit would be much more reasonable.

I used an Exedy clutch on mine just a few weeks ago. Going gread guns! Straight up the beach in the soft sand and it loved it


My slave was also leaking. I just grabbed another one from my spares pile

What'd you pay for the Exedy? I see them on ebay for $320 delivered from somewhere in QLD.

I had to take a pressure hose to my flywheel today to get the mass of sand in it out :/

petroworks from the U.S>.makes one of the absolute best for the Sierra, let me see they make it for anything else.

You might want to call and ee what other applications they sell the clutch for, I could not find a specific listing for anything other than the Sierra.

I have not heard one complaint, but have hear a LOT, of praises for this clutch over the years. They say it slips when you need it too, but holds firm once you release the pedal.

If you go to a centerforce do NOT use the stock clutch disk, I have seen the stock clutch disk come out in pieces on more than one rig with a centerforce pressure plate and stock disk. The stock stuff just can't handle the centerforce PP.

The center force is also very binary. meaning it is either on or off but not much in in between.

Thanks skyman, unfortunatly pressure plates are heavy things, so I don't think any sort of international postage is going to be worth while from the states on this one (as I'll need it in the next couple of weeks.)

The commonly available ones here are Exedy & PBR, with a few no names and smaller mobs to.

Yeah I ordered a Exedy through my local joint, not bad, $290 or something like that. Makes it easy because I've already got half a dozen things that need to arrive in the post before this car can be back on the road.

But that does now include a nice set of manual locking hubs
