Post subject:  M15A into 97 Sierra?

I have been trying to find someone who might know about doing an M15A conversion into a Sierra..

I bought this up in another post and had some feedback that it might be difficult and expensive but I just wanted to see if anyone might have done it or at least looked into it?

I can get an M15A (you may have seen it if you regular ebay) with loom, ecu and ignition with the key, as well as an 03 Jimney box (which is meant to match up) it also has a Jimney inlet manifold.

Things I can FORE SEE im going to need are;
[complete guess at price btw]
exhaust manifold [$150]
Engine mounts (this could be tricky but I know someone who can weld..) [$50]
Custom half shaft [$150]
fuel pump (its a coily so just a swift pump into the existing tank?) [$50]
cooling (swift radiator I figure with some custom mounts may fit?) [$100]
some custom pipe work [$50]
engineers certificate for the engine swap [$200]
some way of getting the gearbox mounted and shifter in the right place [$priceless]
sump (jimney sump is supposed to fit.. I was told by the seller i would need to get a jimney sump.. Im not sure 100% why I need a new sump my zook has 2"body and 2"suspension lift so is it for clearance?) [$60]

(please excuse me if you are currently roling your eyes thinking
"geee this dudes a douch!" .. I'm certainly no expert just a noob .. but an appreciative noob for your knowledge and advice..)

I should explain I am leaning towards the M15A conversion because it only has 27,000ks on it and I can guarantee some longevity and also I think the throw out bearing on my sierra box is on its way out so vitara box and engine is looking to be $2000+ with loads of ks.. M15A and extras+gearbox comes in under $1300.. so do you think im going to chew through the $700 saving in headaches and dramas trying to get an M series into a Sierra?

Thank you if you have bothered to read this far!

Ash

add wiring, $500 or if u get a mate to do it $100+ extra wire, heat shrink etc..

is it auto or manual

in genral when i do converisons i work out what its going to cost in my mind x2 and your getting close....

radiator pipes can cost $100 and things like that

what fan are you going to run? doubt the sierra one will fit, so thermo add another $100

it all adds up mate! but do it.. it would haul ass!

I'd like to put them side by side, the economy of a M15 would kill the G16, but I don't think there would be much in the power/speed difference.

Yeah the higher tech M15 would definately be more economical.
