Wondering what figures you guys are/were able to get per 100Ks on reasonably standard Sierra with a g16 and carby. I'm only two full tanks in on my rebuild, but seems i'm averaging 14L/100K's... I thought I should be doing better than that Given i'm running LPG, but my compression is also a full ratio higher which 'should' make the tank go further, and comparable to petrol mileage. Will it get better as I get a few more miles onto the engine, or is it likely to stick? |

lpg usually uses more than petrol, the "savings" come as lpg is cheaper. some one who knows can shed more light on it. |

dont forget that gas doesn't go as far as petrol, can be a fair bit different in L/100 compared to petrol. |

On my 1.3, LPG used only 10% more (or 9 - 11L per 100)... this is closer to 40%... not happy Jan. |

ive never been a fan of lpg man, 2 mates of mine had ba falcon utes, one lpg and one dual fuel. when the dual fuel ran on lpg he was lucky to get 220km to a tank, when on petrol he go around 490km. his lpg system always got some sort of vapour lock or some such, and would backfire and burry down when you tried to accelerate. i reckon 14l per 100km is ok for lpg, but im no expert on it. maybe pay a visit to someone who specializes in the area and get some advice on it. |

Is it fully run in yet? Has everything seated properly? Give it some time... |

Been on 'straight' LPG for 18 months, it's been a godsend. Every taxi and forklift in Australia runs on it for a reason - being cheap is only part of the reason. Dual fuel is a different story to running straight LPG, you have to settle for an operating compromise between two fuels with different combustion characteristics. You'll never see dual fuel on anything but work utes and vans. Not sure if it's run in yet, don't really know how to tell either. Done around 800 K's of pretty snappy driving, but power gains seem to have levelled off, no smoke out the back, and no oil consumption. To tell the truth i'm not sold on the LPG break in having read countless negative reports, but it's under warranty and been given the OK by Suzistore, and so far so good. Hopefully Royce can chime in, he's always on the money |

As a comparo I had a petrol BA for work then a factory lpg BA after that. The petrol ran around 13-14L/100 and the LPG 17L/100. I can't think of the word for it (chemistry was a long time ago) but you could look up the comparable energy in petrol per ml as opposed to lpg per ml. Think it's more than 10% diff. |
