Just wondering if it's worth the extra bucks to get a HD clutch rather than a standard one? Will be 4wding, and tyres will only be 235/75r15. And i'll be getting the flywheel machined and replacing the spigot bearing and rear main seal while i'm at it. What are your opinions and what difference has a HD clutch made for you over a standard? Don't get HD unless you like big calf muscles. When I bought my car it had a HD clutch in it and it drove like a bag of shit. First day I took it out. I kept stretching the cable. Changed the cable and it wad hard as Fuck to press. There wasn't any play in the clutch itself....I.e. it was either engaged of disengaged...no in between.. Makes rock climbing a pain in the ass . Recently put a STD one in and its good as gold. Clutch is light as a feather. I wouldn't go back |

Pretty sure Centerforce makes a dual friction clutch, which is good for offroad when you need to ride the clutch, apparently it can take more abuse than a normal clutch and doesn't feel any heavier. Don't quote me on that though, I haven't got one yet, but when my clutch does go, I'll probably be getting one. Just thought i'd give you another option. Cheers Matty |

Cheers Matt. I'm looking at getting an exedy clutch. Nascpro, man i'd get that off ya but I need it asap. plus 140 for a new standard exedy clutch isn't too bad in my eyes. Cheers fellas.

Oh and from personal experience. I wouldn't put any grease on your input shaft. Just get some super fine about 400 grit sand paper and give it a good sand. Make sure its smooth and leave it at that. I find that grease collects all the dirt and starts scoring the shaft making the bearing grab more. Just eventually makes the pedal a bit harder. That's just my preferable way. |
