I've been able to get the bearing and collar off my vitara rear shaft. Now the question is how do you guys usually get them back on without using a press. |

You can use a heavy bit of pipe that fits over the shaft and knock it on but that is a bit dodgy. You could take just your axle and bearing to a mechanic and ask if they can press it on, it shouldn't take long. |

Heat the bearing up in the oven, then it will just slide right on |

Thanks nato did that with the bearing and collar and bearing slipped on without a problem the collar however is stuck about 20mm away from the bearing is there anyway to get it to move down? |

Been doing that. Heated the collar and then took to it with a pipe and 2 pound destroyed the pipe and the collar didn't budge unfortunately any other ideas? |

you need a bit of pipe at least 4mm wall and 800mm long and use it like a slide hammer support the centre of the axle with a bit of wood so the studs dont get damanged and slide the pipe down onto the collar, really smack into it hitting shit with a hammer has nowhere near the same energy |

I use the old collar to lessen damage risk to new collar And a pipe around a metre long as slide hammer |

Unless you can get the collar off you will just have to use the pipe. When you heat them up, the trick is to get it on asap before it cools down again |
