In my last parts order for an engine build a non genuine part was chosen.
Sadly I must say....as the part is somewhat different.

What should I do, return it, or is this the replacement part for a possibly discontinued part?

Please comment if you have recent knowledge.

That's a pressure sender , just change the connector on the wire, no problem...

it uses the same connector, flat spade female slips over it

been to Dick Smith, no connectors like this. Would Jaycar have it or am I looking in the wrong places?

Is there any benefit to be gained from replacing an oil pressure sender?

I doubt the OE sender would ever fail in maybe 1,000,000km

Ill assume thats not a pic of your engine cause the head is olf and the oil filter looks to cost about 50c

but yeah this type of terminal jsut pushes onto it

aha, thanks! Now I get how they connect.

The engine on that picture was my engine, but that was the 1st or 2nd block. I am up to the 4th block now, but it should look the same. The oil filter on there was one that got delivered to me before the rebuild process began.
