Here we go again on front wheel bearings
1995 swb vitara 1.6 efi
I'm trying to diagnose which one to change
On a left hand sweeper she starts the wheel bearing rumble
However straight line & right hand is ok with no noise
I have minor play in right front and no play in left
Question is ?? Am I actually chasing bearing noise
Have gone through greasing brake sliders to changing tyres and
Also kicking it
I have done nothing and am all out of ideas.
It has been like this for a while now

do both fronts and be done with it
I dont know vit's but I think they are a sealed bearing ie not cup and cone, providing the play is not in the kingpin, the bearing needs doing and if one does good chance the other aint far behind it.

Vits are IFS :P no kingpin.

Have you tried to tighten the bearing? should help for a little bit but I'd (and I'm about to on mine because it sounds like a WWI plane drone) replace both of them.

I've always been told that when you replace one you should replace both.

The wheel bearing is a double tapered roller unit. It is not adjustable. Once there is play in them, they are shepped!!

Left hand front bearings in mine have outlived the right by 3 years so far, replacing a pair is a fallacy
